After School Programs

The Phil Dejana Learning Center & Outdoor Classroom

Afternoon classes for children ages 3-8 foster lifelong connections between art, wellness, and the natural environment.

ART

Explore painting, clay sculpting and collage, inspired by the Preserve’s abundant natural resources – rocks, shells, seeds, leaves, and sticks – collected onsite by the children for their creative projects. Art classes meet in the Phil Dejana Learning Center & Outdoor Classroom.

YOGA

Discover basic yoga postures, meditation and breathing techniques in a fun and imaginative environment. Practice will advance based on the children’s abilities and interests. Yoga meets in Castle Gould’s Great Hall.

About the instructor: All classes are led by Lisa Cusano, an experienced educator and certified children’s yoga instructor, who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts. “Teacher Lisa” has designed each class to expand opportunities for children as they grow and learn in a fun, natural and nurturing environment.
