An evening of nature-based mindfulness and meditation on the first Thursday of every month. Classes will be held in the beautiful rooms of the Preserve’s mansions, or in the Hempstead House Garden when weather permits.
Qigong

Qigong is considered one of the five branches of Asian Medicine and a foundation for martial arts. Join instructor Adina Dabija for classes in the castle rooms or on the beautiful grounds of the Preserve.
Navy Simulation Museum

Located on the 2nd floor of Castle Gould is our new Navy Simulation Museum. Learn more about the US Navy's use of the Preserve's castles and grounds, try your hand at a flight simulator, and view an authentic Link Trainer.
Sands Point Preserve Express

Rides start at the train station beneath Castle Gould’s clock tower. Our 3-car Express will strap kids (and adults!) in for a 10-minute ride around our beautiful grounds. No reservation necessary.
Ecotherapy Walks
Register for individual walks or a seasonal series of three walks
Ecotherapy or Forest Bathing is the practice of connecting with Nature. Certified guide Linda Lombardo leads monthly sessions of this relational practice.

Join us for this series of all-ages walks as we explore different aspects of the preserve’s environment, encompassing its unique physical features and wildlife, as well as critical conservation issues and helpful practices to create a healthy, sustainable environment.
Our expert guide, environmental educator Hildur Palsdottir, brings a range of perspectives for each outdoor adventure. Hildur will engage audiences in hands-on nature discovery activities, as we celebrate the changing seasons!Visitor Hours
