Fairy Festival

The Peter and Jeri Dejana Foundation
presents
The Long Island Fairy Festival at the Sands Point Preserve!

Join us to celebrate nature, the power of creation, and the magic of imagination with an all-day festival from 10 am – 4 pm on Saturday, May 6th, 2023.  (Rain date May 7th.)

As a nature preserve with four major ecosystems – forest, pond, meadow and beach – the Sands Point Preserve is perfectly situated for a celebration that combines a passion for the natural environment with a sprinkling of fairy magic!

At the heart of the Fairy Festival is the community’s participation in the building of the enchanted dwellings that will invite fairies and other woodland creatures to visit the Preserve for the festival. Modeled after the world-famous Fairy House Tour in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, we’re planning a multi-faceted festival of fairies, food, and family fun.  You can participate in one or more ways:

  1. Build a Fairy House!  For more information about building a house and having it displayed during the festival, click here.
  2. Enter a piece of artwork for possible inclusion in the curated Fairy Art Exhibit. More info here.
  3. Submit an application to participate in the Fairy House Artist Invitational competition.  Click here.
  4. Attend the Fairy Festival on May 6th.  A day of all things fairy for the whole family. Find out more here.
