Film/TV Production

View Through Windows to Long Island Sound

The Preserve offers professional film and television production location services throughout the property.

Only 45 minutes from New York City, the Preserve provides versatile and diverse settings — from Hempstead House and Castle Gould interiors and exteriors to the Great Lawn, woods, pond, and views of the Long Island Sound.  The Black Box, White Box and Great Hall offer very large, well-ventilated spaces, for hair, makeup, holding, catering and a production’s other various needs.

According to Royal Pains star, Mark Feuerstein, it’s all about the water view. “Sands Point is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. That location will always be etched in my brain.”

Television shows shot here include Billions, The Affair, Dickenson, The Blacklist, The Politician, The Deuce, GothamLaw and Order: Criminal Intent, Boardwalk Empire, Royal Pains, Feud and The Gilded Age. Feature films include Gemini Man, Scent of a Woman, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles among others – and a bedroom in Harry F. Guggenheim’s French Norman manor, Falaise, was the setting for the famed horse head scene from The Godfather in 1972.

The Preserve is also the location for numerous magazine shoots, commercials, and music videos.
