AMANDA KHALIL Amanda is the founder of Port Washington Mama, a popular website and social media page for families with young children in the surrounding area, and is the visionary behind Port’s Momtrepeneur Fair, the first local event of its kind, providing a platform for mom-owned business owners to connect with the community. Amanda is active in many area nonprofits, having served two terms as President of the Parent Resource Center and leading the Board and Staff through a successful turnaround of the organization. She has also spearheaded successful fundraising events for Planned Parenthood of Nassau County and Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judy Bosworth. She advises the Port Washington BID on navigating social media and is active on the John J. Daly HSA. Currently, Amanda also serves on the Board of the Growing Love Community Garden of Manorhaven and the Advisory Board for The Ed. Foundation. Amanda created the very successful Blue Grass, BBQ & Bourbon festival as a member of the Conservancy’s Events Committee. Amanda is a Daisy Troop Leader and lives in Port Washington with her husband, Sam, and two daughters.
