Welcome to the White Party! The magnificent Sands Point Preserve inspires discovery – formally in our nature education programs, or spontaneously on peaceful explorations across the grounds. Creating programs that draw on the preserve’s many resources is an exciting task – but connecting our talented educators with students of all ages is among the most rewarding aspects of our work here. Tonight’s benefit enables us to transform the potential for learning into engaging programs and services, and we sincerely thank all of our guests for your generous support. Tonight’s honorees, Amrit Sethi and the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County are esteemed educators and extraordinary citizens, and we extend our congratulations and thanks for your meaningful contributions to so many lives. We are delighted to welcome Dr. Lyle Leipziger, Chief of Division, Plastic Surgery, North Shore University Hospital / LIJ Medical Center as the evening’s sponsor, and extend our gratitude for his generosity. The White Party 2018 Co-Chairs Liz Boylan, Georgia DeYoung, Carly Rose Elson, and Dilia Kaminsky are great ambassadors to the community; we thank you for your creativity and resourcefulness, which have made this year’s event more wonderful than ever. The Conservancy’s devoted staff work tirelessly in our mansions, on every acre, every project, and every event throughout the year – we are here tonight because of your efforts. Finally, on behalf of the Conservancy’s Board of Directors, we are proud to partner with Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, Director of Government Relations Michael Santeramo, and Parks Commissioner Eileen Krieb, to ensure the future of this unique and beloved site. Here’s to a marvelous White Party, rich with all of the colors of the earth. Karli Hagedorn Beth Horn Chairman Managing Director
