Tending the Earth Together The Conservancy welcomes Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County (CCE-Nassau) as an education partner at the Sands Point Preserve. Our organizations’ goals align perfectly: to provide the finest horticultural programs across the region and to inspire gardeners and conservationists of all ages. Tonight, we proudly honor CCE-Nassau for its outstanding and longstanding service to the community. Since 1914, CCE-Nassau has responded to the needs of local residents with unbiased, research-based information, tools and education that people have come to depend on. Their educational programs are based on dynamic and current data from Cornell University and other Land Grant universities across the nation. CCE-Nassau staff and trained volunteers deliver high quality education programs, conduct research, and encourage community collaborations. Their educators connect people with the information they need on topics such as environmental science, horticulture, urban forestry, food, wellness and nutrition, youth development, community development and sustainable food systems. Their ability to match university resources with community based needs helps them to play a vital role in the lives of individuals, families and businesses throughout Nassau County. For more information about CCE-Nassau visit: www.ccenassau.org or call 516-433- 7970. CCE-Nassau is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization and is part of the National Cooperative Extension land grant system, a partnership between County, State, and Federal governments that is administered in New York State through Cornell University. Each county’s NYS Cooperative Extension association is independent and works to serve the needs of the county in which it is located.
