This popular Giacomo Puccini opera tells the tale of Cio-Cio-San, a young geisha known as Madama Butterfly, whose great love for U.S. Navy Lt. B. F. Pinkerton, stationed in Japan, ends in heartbreak and tragedy.
The evening spans two of the Preserve’s mansions. Cocktails, a light dinner buffet, and dessert will be served at Hempstead House, in the rose garden if weather permits, followed by a 90-minute performance in Castle Gould’s Great Hall.
