Scout Groups

Guided Programs

The Preserve welcomes scout troops for guided programs year-round. In addition to the guided programs, troops are welcome to spend time at the Preserve to eat lunch at one of our outdoor picnic areas, play on the Woodland Playground, or engage in self-guided exploration of our woodland trails.

Guided programs include the Hiking Merit Badge, Hiker Badge, Eco Friend, Trail Adventure, Eco-Learner, and Outdoor Art Maker. Custom programs can also be developed specifically for your troop. Program Fees: $7/child, minimum of 12 children

Parking Fees: The Preserve offers discounted parking for scouts: $10 per car, $20 per van, or $30 per bus. Parking is free for Conservancy members.

Insurance Requirement: A Certificate of Insurance naming Nassau County, 1550 Franklin Avenue, Mineola, NY 11501; the Sands Point Preserve Conservancy, 127 Middle Neck Road, Sands Point, NY 11050; and the Village of Sands Point, 26 Tibbits Lane, Sands Point, NY 11050 as additionally insured.

Overnight Camping

Overnight camping facilities are available for scout groups with adult supervision only at two campsites on Preserve grounds.

Facility Rental Fees:
$50 per campsite, per night
$100 refundable security deposit

Parking Fee:
The Preserve offers discounted parking for scouts: $10 per car, $20 per van, or $30 per bus. This covers the duration of the overnight program, allowing adults to depart and return as needed. Parking is free for Conservancy members.
