Join us for three exciting events celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, including 3, 2, 1 Blast Off, a 3 pm interactive program for children 8+, Apollo@50, a 5 pm lecture for adults, and a special preview of The Goddard Connection – a fascinating exhibition in tribute to Dr. Robert Goddard, the Father of Modern Rocketry, whose groundbreaking work was underwritten by Daniel and Florence Guggenheim and their son, Harry. Participants can explore the exhibition at 4 – 5 pm, with a complimentary glass of wine.

Can you imagine taking off in a rocket with powerful boosters? Rockets are the cornerstone of space exploration and have brought us to orbit, to the Moon and beyond! Learn more about how rockets propel beyond the Earth’s atmosphere while experimenting with basic types of rockets.

Listen and learn about the Lunar Module, the Apollo Space Program, and the role of Long Islanders, including Goddard’s primary supporters: Daniel, Florence, and Harry Guggenheim, in this historical feat. Join us at 4 pm for a special preview of The Goddard Connection; enjoy a complimentary glass of wine while you tour the exhibition.

Directions from NYC: Long Island Expressway to exit 36 (Searingtown Road/Port Washington). At the light, make a left and go under the Long Island Expressway heading north. Take Searingtown Road north, it will change into Port Washington Boulevard and then into Middle Neck Road. The Preserve will be on the right.
