Join us in Hempstead House as we celebrate and sample sustainable wines with expert Michael Douglass and guest speaker Jacques Herviou, Partner of Chateau Maris in Languedoc, France.
“One of the most environmentally friendly wineries in the world”
-The Wine Spectator
Chateau Maris is a 79-acre biodynamic and organic estate divided into a multitude of small vineyards on the hillside above the village of La Livinere, the first Cru Classe of the Minervois, in the Languedoc. It received Ecosert certification in 2002, then Biodyvin in 2004, Demeter in 2008.
Chateau Maris has been a pioneer and leader in the sustainable, organic and biodynamic movement in wine growing as well as wine making. The quality, energy and value of their wines is a credit to their dedication to the movement. Chateau Maris is the first European vineyard to obtain B corporation certification, a label recognized by the United Nations and the European Commission. B corporation R certification promotes companies that transform their business into a virtuous force for good; good for workers, good for communities and good for the environment.
Along with Jacque’s presentation participants will be tasting six Jacques Herviou wine selections.
