Winter Art Classes with Sandrine Gold

Monet's painting
Monet's "The Magpie" (1868-9)

In Sandrine’s highly creative art classes, children will view the natural world through the lenses of well-known artists from around the world, who have been inspired by nature. This winter, “The Magpie” by French painter Claude Monet will be our inspiration and “The Magpie at the Preserve” will be the theme of this five-week series of virtual classes.

Each week children will be invited to reimagine this masterpiece, taking inspiration from of the Sands Point Preserve through hands-on and process art activities. Because the classes are virtual, we will use items that can easily be found at home or in the garden. The artwork produced this winter will then make up the “Magpie at the Preserve” collection!
