Family Nature Programs

The Sands Point Preserve Conservancy offers nature education programs and seasonal celebrations for families throughout the year. Children of all ages are welcome.

Our unique programs include STEM and STEAM curriculum-based activities, so children are discovering facts and concepts that relate directly to their studies in school while having fun at the Preserve.

Programs take place inside the historic mansions and the Phil Dejana Learning Center & Outdoor Classroom; weather permitting, we also venture out to the Great Lawn, gardens, woods, beach and pond for hands-on learning experiences. Please check the location for specific programs at the Gatehouse when you arrive. Adult supervision is required for all family programs.

Sports Scientist

Father’s Day – Build a Bat Box

Join Biologist/Ranger Eric Powers as he de-mystifies the bat species. This natural predator of disease-carrying mosquitoes is often misunderstood and sometimes feared. We’ll learn why bats are great neighbors, and participants will build a bat box to take home. All equipment and materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own drills. Summer Solstice Celebration

Bug Scout
