Exhibition: The Goddard Connection

A Tribute to the Father of Modern Rocketry.  On the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, the Conservancy celebrates Dr. Robert Goddard, whose invention of the liquid-fuel rocket in 1926, underwritten by the Daniel Guggenheim Fund for the Promotion of Aeronautics, propelled the United States space program for decades to follow. Wellness programming at the Preserve expands in 2019 with monthly Forest Therapy Walks led by certified guide Linda Lombardo. Based on the Japanese tradition of Shinrin-Yoku, a wellness practice developed in the 1980s, each unique walk inspires mindful connections with the natural elements of the woods for a range of healthful benefits.
