Hours and Admission

Welcome to the Sands Point Preserve! The Sands Point Preserve’s grounds are open for visitors – the Great Lawn, Hempstead House Garden, Woodland Playground, dog run, forest trails, and pond area. The Welcome Center & Gift Shop in Castle Gould is open Wednesdays through Sundays at 11 am – 6 pm.  Restrooms are available in  (Event Information)

24 Hour Wilderness Survival

Spend 24 hours in our woods during our Overnight Survival challenge! Instructors Eric Powers and Mike Evans will guide this immersive experience, which includes setting up a group campsite, foraging and resource walks, establishing fire, trying your hand at cordage and more. See the grand rooms inside the massive 50,000-square-foot Tudor-style mansion, the former summer residence of Howard Gould (1912-1917) and later Daniel and Florence Guggenheim (1917-1930). Monthly Meditation
