Master Calendar

The cold winter season is the perfect time to plan your gardens, for fresh vegetables and herbs throughout the growing seasons.  The Growing Love Community Garden and Sands Point Preserve Conservancy partner up in Castle Gould’s Great Hall to educate interested gardeners – from children to adults – in two special sessions to inspire everyone to think spring!

Session I: 2 – 3 PM – Family Gardening Adventures
Themed projects for children and parents

Can’t wait for plants to wake up this spring?  Play with them now!  Bring children for an hour of garden-themed crafts and activities involving scent and touch, observation and movement.  The program will close with a short yoga session, especially for children.  Activities are designed for children ages 6-10, but younger may participate. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  Pre-registration requested at info@sandspointpreserve.org.

Session II: 3 – 4 PM  – February Gardening: Preparing to Grow Food
An information-rich presentation for adults

Make your 2019 growing season a productive one by planning now.  Learn how to make a garden plan for your space, choose the vegetable varieties right for you, care for your plants, find reliable sources of help and information, and employ nature’s free labor force in your garden.  Pre-registration is requested at info@sandspointpreserve.org.
